Come along and join us for an informative networking day at Mt Lawley SHS. Thursday 13th 8:30 - 3:00 We will be showcasing some of the new software that schools have been using this year. Along with FREE Morning Tea, Lunch and a Sundowner. Each Term, WATSSA aims to do at least one school tour. The school tour aims to highlight the technology used in that school and promote a networking opportunity to share ideas and solutions to common problems. Working collaboratively with DoE, the tour is also an opportunity to meet people from central office and put a face to a name.  And check out what's new from some of our great Sponsors  We look forward to catching up with you all there. The West Australian Technical Support in Schools Association (WATSSA) is proud to present the 2022 ICT in Education Conference. After another great success in 2021 WATSSA is back with the 2022 event and we hope to make it even better. This event will consist of at least two streams: Technical, ICT Leadership and Teaching. It will include items such as: Presentations from DOE and Kinetic IT staff on topics like SOE Development, Wireless and Networking, Connect, Office 365 etc. A panel discussion with Senior DOE staff on the future directions of ICT in the DOE. And after the great feedback from our last event, the workshops will be back from Apple, Google, Microsoft and others, Speakers from different Vendors presenting on the latest and greatest in Educational technology. Guest speakers presenting on a range of topics including ICT Leadership, ESports, Gamification in the Classroom, STEM etc. Vendor booths where delegates can directly interact with Hardware, Software, Audio-Visual and ICT Integration providers. In addition to the above, WATSSA will hold its Annual AGM and a sundowner / networking opportunity. Current WATSSA membership holders will also receive a free ticket to the AGM dinner.   Tickets at $200 per day & $100 for the dinner. All prices ex GST 23rd & 24th November. Register Now

CompNow is excited to share with the WATSSA community our recent acceptance as a member of the Common Use Arrangement (CUA) Panel for hardware purchasing. This announcement now allows for all Government Schools, both Primary and or Secondary, to gain access to what CompNow has been able to offer other Educational Institutes throughout WA and Nationally. In addition to this, CompNow will share our tailored Parent Purchasing Portal which has been tried, tested and approved by many schools in WA. CompNow looks forward to sharing with the WATSSA community some tips and tricks that we know you will find particularly useful when it comes to implementing your school’s digital strategy. Our Union will be dropping by to update us on the goings on with our Payrise and ICT working party for the DG.  Updates on ICT Working Party the Public Service agreement and School Support Offices (Ministerial) agreement negotiations. YUA/SSO activities Konica will be on hand to talk about Papercut. Konica Minolta is a proud industry leader in WA Education, supplying and supporting award-winning photocopiers, desktop printers and 3D printers. Through our partnership with PaperCut, we are able to assist your school in reducing print volumes by an industry-average 30% leading to extensive cost savings, security over sensitive documents and increased efficiencies for staff. Cyber security Information with Trevlyn Cyber Security Specialist at DOE October is Cyber Security awareness month. This is a good opportunity to equip SBNAs with knowledge and tips on how you can enhance security on your school-managed (Tier 3) servers and help raise cyber security awareness among users at your respective schools. Fuji will be showcasing “Kofax n school archive software” Kofax Control Suite – Workflow management from web forms, hard copy forms, etc. Scanned or emailed in Kofax will use accurate Optical Character Recognition technology to extract relevant data to be transported into SYS or Compass. Eliminating the need for manual data input leads to time constraints and room for human error. You can build virtual dynamic forms with automatic fill options, DocuSign, and back-end validation of credentials. A full 360 capture to workflow solution for all your enrolment and workflow needs at the school. Ezescan - Digitise with hardware (MFP or dedicated scanner) to scan in all old archived records using Optical Character Recognition to use metadata as storage convention. Which you can ingest into your Tier 3 server storage with an easy-to-use keyword search to access any record. Saving time and effort in storage and retrieval as well as the risk of losing hard copy documents because of a flood, fire, etc. Chat with Schools that use NIT to assist them with their intern program. National Institute of Technology (NIT AUSTRALIA) is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) providing internship opportunities through ACS Professional Year Program to international students. NIT Australia is an accredited provider by ACS (Australian Computer Society) delivering the ACS Professional Year Program since 2015.  The school specialises in IT and focused on providing ICT graduate students with a set of highly sought-after professional skills that will help them on their way to a new career in the ICT sector while paving the migration pathway for those seeking to make Australia their new home.

Along with Morning Tea, Lunch and a Sundowner. Scott from Fastvue will be joining us to show you some of the new and up coming features as well as how to get the most out of your Fastvue reporter. The team from Ricoh will be there to showcase Laserfiche with some live demonstrations of how Duncraig and Lynwood SHS are using it. Duncraig will also demonstrate the new digital automated enrolment process using Laserfiche. Vivi - Have you heard about it but want to know and see more? See how Duncraig has transformed how Staff and students connect and share content with TV & Projectors throughout the school. Schoolbench will also join us to walk you through how their software can help schools securely manage photos & videos, along with a live demonstration from Lynwood SHS.
